Long Slow Exhale Season 2: Has It Been Renewed?

Pam Veasey developed Long Slow Exhale, a women’s basketball drama television series for Spectrum Originals and BET. Veasey will executive produce with old L.A.’s Finest colleagues Anton Cropper and Jon Dove, reuniting the group at Spectrum after their maiden venture into scripted originals with the Bad Boys spinoff. Cropper will also serve as the series director. Bruna Papandrea and Casey Haver are also executive producers of Made Up Stories. The series began airing on April 4, 2022.

With its engrossing plot and dramatic performances by its strong members, the series has garnered widespread praise from fans and reviewers alike. As a result, everyone is eager to learn when they will be able to see the highly anticipated second season. To answer this question here is all that has been revealed so far regarding ‘Long Slow Exhale’ season 2.

Long Slow Exhale Season 2 Expected Release Date, If Renewed

Season 1 of ‘Long Slow Exhale’ premiered on Spectrum Originals and BET on April 4, 2022. The final episode aired on April 25, 2022, bringing the series total to 12.

Now, let us tell you what we know about the show’s future. As of now, neither the creators nor the network has made any official announcements regarding the show’s renewal. However, given the show’s positive reception during its initial run, its chances of returning at least once more are high.

Not only that, the surprising conclusion to season 1 leaves a lot of material unexplored, which will almost certainly be covered in the upcoming sophomore season. Additionally, several other shows with similar themes about academic institutions becoming embroiled in the scandal have been renewed for at least two seasons, including ‘Elite,’ ‘The A-List,’ and ’13 Reasons Why.’ Thus, ‘Long Slow Exhale’ can most likely follow suit and receive an additional season.

Given the foregoing and the success of the debut season, it is likely that the producers will quickly greenlight a potential season 2 by the end of summer 2022. How soon it will appear on our television screens is determined by the producers’ production schedule and the availability of cast members. If everything goes according to plan, ‘Long Slow Exhale’ season 2 should premiere in Q3 2023.

Long Slow Exhale Season 2 Anticipated Cast

The series boasts performers that will ingrain themselves in your memory, such as Rose Rollins, well known for her role as Tasha Williams in The L Word. She portrays J.C. Abernathy, the head coach of a women’s football and basketball team whose main objective is to protect its players. She co-stars with Ian Harding as assistant coach Eddie Hagan and Josh Lucas Hillman Ford, the university’s sports director. Lyric Bent portrays Garett, Abernathy’s wife, while Shalini Bathina portrays Abernathy (Emily). All of the actors will repeat their roles if the program is renewed. Additionally, the series will include new artists.

What Could the Plot of Long Slow Exhale Season 2 Be?

Season 1 follows the Clayton Hall Cougars as they successfully defend their women’s high school basketball title under coach J.C. Abernathy. As they brace for the next battle, Shannon, the top three-point shooter, immediately accuses assistant coach Eddie of sexual molestation. As a result of the claim, J.C. is forced to choose sides, as she also has an ongoing extramarital affair with Eddie. Regardless of her assistance to Shannon, she faces stiff resistance from Hillman Ford, the faculty’s sports director.

To avoid controversy, Hillman coerces J.C. into allowing Eddie’s promotion, but she declines due to the risk to her employment. This results in an overwhelming amount of tension between her and the college administration, but gradually more females come out with their tales of sexual assault. To put the record right, J.C. launches her own inquiry into the subject and Hillman’s dark past when his dead body is discovered in a car trunk. Meanwhile, while training for forthcoming competitions, the staff players cope with their own personal family problems and personal issues.

As the season concludes, it is hinted that J.C. unravels the mystery surrounding sexual claims, but all suspicion for Hillman’s death seems to fall on her and her husband Garrett. The prospective second season will almost certainly pick up immediately after the dramatic conclusion of the first and reveal how J.C. and Garrett cope with the disaster they find themselves in. Additionally, fresh details about Hillman’s life will be disclosed, as will the alternative school faculty’s participation in his lack of life.

Corrine’s arguments with her father and stepmother, Shannon’s determination to pursue her charges, and Garrett’s reaction to his partner’s adultery with Eddie are all possible plot threads. Additional narrative twists and turns might be included.
