India reduces new COVID-19 cases by nearly 9% in last 24 hours

 The country is witnessing some decline in new cases of Coronavirus, registering a 9 percent reduction in the number of new Covid-19 cases on Monday as compared to a day earlier. In the last 24 hours, 32,937 new COVID-19 cases have been reported. With this, the total number of infected people in the country has increased to 3,22,25,513. Earlier, 36,083 cases were reported on Sunday. While 417 patients have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours. 4,31,642 people have lost their lives due to the global epidemic in the country so far.

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, 35,909 patients in India have managed to get rid of corona infection in the last 24 hours while a total of 3,14,11,924 people have recovered so far. The recovery rate has risen to 97.48 percent.

The reduction in new cases and the high number of patients recovering have also reduced active cases. At present, 3,81,947 people in the country are undergoing corona treatment, which is 1.18 percent of the total cases. Active cases have decreased by 3,389 in the last hour. The active case figure is the lowest in 145 days.

Considering the transition rate, it remains below three percent in a row on a weekly and daily basis. The weekly positivity rate is 2.01 percent while the daily infection rate is at 2.79 percent, down from three percent in the last 21 days.

Coming to the nationwide vaccination campaign, according to the Central Government, so far 54,58,57,108 doses of the vaccine have been given to people as compared to 17,43,114 doses of the vaccine in the last 24 hours.
