Kamini is the first Indian woman to score a century in the Cricket World Cup
Kamini scored 100 runs in 146 balls against West Indies in the first match of the 2013 Cricket World Cup. With this, she became the first Indian woman cricketer to score a century in the World Cup.
In the 2017 World Cup qualifiers, She scored her highest innings of 113 runs against Ireland. She also became the first Indian woman to score a century in World Cup qualifiers.
Kamini is the Indian opener to have played the highest individual Test innings
In November 2014, Kamini scored 192 runs in 430 balls in the Test against South Africa played at Mysore. Her innings included 24 fours and a six. She is the Indian opening batsman to have played the highest individual Test innings. Apart from this, she is also the batsman with the second-highest individual innings opening in the Women’s Test. Mithali Raj (214) has played the biggest Test innings for India.
During the 192 runs, Kamini also shared a partnership of 275 runs for the second wicket with Poonam Raut (130). This is the highest partnership for the second wicket in Test cricket. Apart from this, it is the second-highest partnership for any wicket for any team. This is the only Test partnership of 200 or more runs for India.
In November 2016, Kamini was given out as obstructing the field against West Indies in Vijayawada. She is the only female cricketer in the world to be dismissed like this.
Kamini is the only Indian woman to be named BCCI Player of the Year thrice
Kamini, who played for the Under-16s at the age of eight and the senior team at the age of 10, won the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Junior Player of the Year Award 2007-08. After this, she became the Senior Player of the Year in 2009-10 and 2012-13. She is the only Indian female cricketer to have won the BCCI Player of the Year award three times.
