Lockdown extends for a week in Kerala in view of the rising COVID-19 cases

The second wave of coronavirus pandemic in India has taken a severe form. The cases of infection are not declining even after the ongoing lockdown in Kerala.

In view of the fast-growing COVID-19 cases, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced to extend the entire lockdown in the state for a week from May 16 till May 23.

Chief Minister Vijayan tweeted information about extending the lockdown.

 

In view of the fast-growing COVID-19 cases in Kerala, Chief Minister Vijayan tweeted on Friday evening and informed about the further development of the lockdown.

He said, “The positivity rate remains high, so the state government has decided to extend the present complete lockdown in Kerala till 23 May,”

He further said that triple lockdown would be imposed here in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malappuram due to a high test positive rate.

These restrictions will remain in the state during lockdown

All government offices, public, private and government companies, all roadways and waterways transportation services will remain closed during the lockdown period in the state.

All educational, training, research, coaching institutes, all religious places, social, political, sports, entertainment, educational, cultural and religious ceremonies will be banned.

Similarly, only 20 people will be allowed to attend the funeral and marriage ceremony. People must follow the Corona Protocol during the ceremony.

This is the condition of corona infection in Kerala

On Thursday, 39,955 new cases of infection have been reported, and 97 deaths have occurred in Kerala.

With this, the total number of infected in the state has reached 20,50,889. Of these, 6,150 died, and 16,05,471 people have recovered after treatment.

Similarly, the number of currently active cases in the state has reached 4,39,268. On Friday, 33,733 people won the battle against Corona.
