After ‘Extreme Sandstorm’ Three provinces in Mongolia have now resumed normal power supply 

According to the news released on the morning of March 16, local time on the official website of the Ministry of Energy of Mongolia, the three provinces of Bayan-Uliegai, Ubusu and Khobdo in western Mongolia completed the high-voltage cables at 22:40 on the 15th. All the emergency repair work was completed, and it was successfully connected to the Russian power grid at 0:55 am on the 16th, and the normal power supply to local users was resumed at 1:11 am on the 16th.

From the night of the 13th to the noon of the 14th, the area was hit by a huge sandstorm. In the middle of the night on the 13th, the Russian C-458 high-voltage cable No. 216 tower, which provides power to the western part of Mongolia, collapsed, causing a large-scale blackout in these three provinces of Mongolia.
